Airports Serving Jamaica
There are two international airports located in Jamaica, one in Kingston, the capital of the island nation, and one in Montego Bay. The airport located in Kingston is the Norman Manley International Airport (KIN), and the one in Montego Bay is Sir Donald Sangster International Airport (MBJ). Both serve as major hubs of Air Jamaica. KIN serves mostly destinations in the United States with limited flights to Western Europe and South America, while MBJ serves a large variety of North and South American destinations as well as European and Middle Eastern flights. Sangster Airport is the busier of the two and is thought of as "The gateway to the Caribbean" and considered a major world-class airport. The Norman Manley Airport is undergoing a massive three stage renovation that will include a virtual rebuilding and expansion. These renovations, expected to total USD$160 million, will be complete in 2022, so some inconvenience may be experienced. Low cost carriers frequent both airports, so do your research. Check Jetblue Airways, Spirit Airlines and Virgin Atlantic at both airports, while US Airways, USA3000, Thomas Cook, Thomson Airways and WestJet offer service into MBJ.
