The Park Chennai is located at Anna Salai, in the middle of the city business center. Situated in the historic premises of the Gemini Film Studios, the hotel has 214 rooms and the architecture of the 1940s. The hotel has luxurious elevators that take you away to various floors. Custom-made mattresses are available in every room, as are down feather pillows. Every room has its own workspace, with two phone lines, cordless phones, and data ports with Internet. The bathrooms are equipped with rain showers and massage showers. The in-house spa Aura provides massages, body polishes, and a range of treatments available. With two restaurants, one serving local food and the other serving international cuisine, you will always be able to order exactly what you feel like eating.
Formerly called Madras, Chennai is the capital of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu is famous for its Tamil culture, Bharatnatyam, Carnatic music, and its film industry known as Kollywood. Located on the coastline along the Bay of Bengal, Chennai has the second longest seashore in the world. While Tamil is the most commonly spoken language, many people also speak English.
There are several popular tourist attractions located near The Park. Foremost of all is the Valluvar Kottam, which is a memorial to the poet-saint Tiruvalluvar. Its auditorium, with seating for approximately 4000 people, is said to be the largest in Asia. Fort St. George was one of the first places where the British established power and was built by the East India Company.
