Bahrain Visa
Foreign nationals who are not citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council countries need a visa to enter Bahrain. An electronic Bahrain visa (Bahrain E-visa) is available for United States citizens traveling to Bahrain for tourism or business purposes for a stay up to two weeks. They may also obtain visas valid for two weeks upon arrival in Bahrain that can be extended for an additional two weeks. Passports should have at least six months of remaining validity.
For a tourist visa, applicants should submit passport, passport-size photograph, visa application form, return/onward ticket or confirmed itinerary, and a personal letter addressed to the Visa Section of the Embassy of Bahrain stating the purpose of travel, the applicant"s itinerary, and responsibility for all travel expenses. Visa applications for minors should be accompanied by a notarized letter of consent from both parents as well as a photocopy of both parents" passports. A single parent has to submit a document stating that he or she is the legal guardian of the minor.
Business visa applicants should submit the same documents as those required for a tourist visa except for the personal letter. Instead, a business letter of responsibility should accompany the application. Such a letter, typewritten on company letterhead and addressed to the Visa Section of the Embassy of Bahrain, should state the travel purpose and nature of duties to be performed and names and addresses to be contacted in Bahrain; additionally, the letter should guarantee financial support for the visit and the return transportation. Business visas have a maximum validity of five years.
