Iran Visa
All foreign nationals who wish to
enter Iran need to apply for a visa. However, those from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Saudi Arabia and Turkey need not apply for a visa for stays not exceeding three months.
There are 10 types of visa to Iran:
- Tourist visa (30 day length)
- Transit Visa for Drivers Carrying Cargoes
- Work Permit Visa
- Airport Entry or Transit Visa
- Pilgrimage Visa
- Transit Visa
- Visa for Entry to Free Trade and Industrial Areas of Iran (FTZ)
- Student Visa
- Press Journalist Visa
- Diplomatic and Service Visa for Iran
All types of visas require you to submit a completed application, a copy of the main page of your passport, and a brief curriculum vitae. These are submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the nearest Iran Consulate or Embassy. Processing takes three to seven days; however, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has the sole authority is granting visas.
It is recommended that you file your visa application as early as 10 weeks prior to your planned travel, which should give you enough time to submit any additional requirements the Ministry of Foreign Affairs might request.
A 15-day visa is also granted to travelers arriving at these
airports in Iran
: Tehran Imam Khomeini Airport (IKA), Tehran Mehrabad Airport (THR), Mashad Airport (MHD), Shiraz Airport (SYZ), Tabriz Airport (TBZ), and Isfahan Airport (ISF). However, these are only given to nationals of Albania, Germany, Austria, Armenia , Uzbekistan, Spain, Australia, Slovenia, Slovakia, UAE United Arabic Emirates, Indonesia , Ukraine, Italy, Ireland , Bahrain, Brazil, Brunei, Belarusian , Belgium, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Portugal, Peru, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, China, Denmark, Russia federation, Romania, Japan, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Oman, France, Palestine, Finland, Philippine, Cyprus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Croatia, south Korea, North Korea, Columbia, Kuwait, Georgia, Lebanon , Luxemburg, Poland, Malaysia, Hungary, Mongolia, Mexico, Norway, new Zealand, Venezuela, Vietnam, Holland Netherlands, India, Yugoslavia, Greece.
