Iraq Visa

There are differing reports regarding the rules on acquiring entry or visa to Iraq. Some say you can enter via Jordan, Turkey, and Iran without any hitches, although entering through Kuwait is not so reliable. However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website states that visas are granted to non-Iraqi wives who have Iraqi husbands, students studying in Iraq, and truck drivers who show pertinent and official documents from an Iraqi company. Visas are granted on the following conditions:

- Applicant must have a passport that is valid for a minimum of six months upon application.
- Applicant must submit a completed application form.
- Applicant must be able to show that he/she is able to provide for his/her living costs while in Iraq.
- Applicant must be able to show a medical certificate that proves his/her good health and physical condition.

The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs" consular services offers four different types of visa, which include:

Collective tourist pass or visa, which is valid for just 15 days Religious tourist visa for pilgrims wishing to visit holy shrines Visitor visa that can be used for different reasons and can be extended for between 30 and 90 days Political visa

Fees range from $30 USD for a tourist visa to $150 USD for a residence visa.
