Marshall Islands Visa
The Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) is made up of nearly 1 million square miles of emerald-green coral atolls, islands, and the blue waters of the Pacific. Big game, bottom, and fly fishing are popular activities. Equally popular to visitors are snorkeling and diving, with about 870 reef systems and a large number of World War II wrecks.
United States citizens are not required to obtain entry visas prior to arrival in the Marshall Islands for a stay up to 30 days, whether they be tourists or business travelers. All you need is a valid U.S. passport, sufficient funds for your stay in RMI, and a return or onward air/sea ticket or sufficient funds to purchase the same. You may apply for an extension of your 30-day stay for up to 90 days from date of entry, whereas for visits of more than three months it is necessary to apply for a visa. U.S. citizens traveling to the Marshall Islands for employment or study purposes are likewise required to obtain the appropriate visa prior to arrival in RMI.
If your visit requires a visa, apply with the nearest embassy or consulate. You may also contact the Office of the Attorney General, PO Box 890, Majuro, Marshall Islands 96960, telephone (692)625-3244. HIV testing is mandatory for temporary visitors staying for more than 30 days, as well as applicants for residence and work permits. Foreign test results may be accepted subject to certain conditions.
