Myanmar Visa

Foreign nationals traveling to the Union of Myanmar are advised to obtain a visa in advance or else risk being turned away upon arrival to this destination. Application may be made personally or through a visa expediter. To apply for a tourist visa, American citizens must submit their U.S. passport with a remaining validity of at least six months from the date of application. In addition, the applicant must submit three passport-size photographs, a confirmed flight itinerary or airline tickets to and from Myanmar, and two completed visa application forms, Report of Arrival form, and Work History form. Myanmar tourist visas are valid for three months, are non-refundable, and allow the holders to stay for a non-renewable period of four weeks.

To obtain a Myanmar business visa, the applicant should submit the same requirements as those for a tourist visa, plus a business letter from the host company in Myanmar. Business visas are valid for three months, are non-renewable, and allow holders to stay in the country for 10 weeks. A multiple journey entry business visa may be obtained for a higher processing fee with special permission from the embassy.

A meditation visa may be obtained by visitors who wish to attend a meditation center in Myanmar. In addition to the regular requirements, the applicant must submit a letter to the Ambassador as well as a sponsor letter from the meditation center. Meditation visas are valid for three months, allow the holder to stay for three months, and may take longer to process than the other visa types.
