Nauru Visa

An uplifted coral formation, Nauru lies in the Pacific Ocean south of the equator. Swimming, deep sea fishing and scuba-diving are popular activities on the island.

United States citizens traveling to Nauru as tourists need not obtain a Nauru visa in advance. Tourist visas valid for 30 days are issued upon arrival at any authorized port of entry in the island. You will need to present your U.S. passport with at least six months of remaining validity, a confirmed airline roundtrip ticket or other proof of departure, and a copy of confirmed hotel or cruise reservations. If you are staying with family or friends in Nauru, you need to present a letter of invitation from them. Business travelers likewise may be issued business visas upon arrival in the island. Such visas are valid for 30 days and require submission of a business letter from the employer or sponsoring company in Nauru. The letter must be written on company letterhead and state the position held by the applicant in the company as well as the reason for the visit to Nauru; additionally, it must indicate who will be financially responsible for the applicant"s stay in Nauru. U.S. citizens transiting through Nauru are not required to obtain visas, provided that the connecting flight leaves within three days of arrival. You will be required to present only your U.S. passport valid for at least six months beyond your stay in Nauru, onward travel ticket, and valid onward travel visas when applicable. Student and work visas are required of all foreign nationals.
