Tajikistan Visa
United States citizens
traveling to Tajikistan
need to secure a visa to enter the country. The Republic of Tajikistan consular offices issue the following visa types appropriate to your travel purpose: tourist, business, working, private, study, service, diplomatic, and transit.
Tourist visas, including group visas, may be issued for a maximum stay of 180 days. A business visa is required if you intend to conduct business or commercial activity in Tajikistan. This is also valid for a maximum stay of 180 days but can sometimes be extended. If you are planning to undertake paid employment in Tajikistan, you will need a work visa. If your
travel to Tajikistan
is for private reasons, apply for a private visa. A study visa is necessary for study, probation, or scientific practice in this destination. Diplomatic visas are issued to members of official delegations who hold diplomatic passports, while service visas are issued to representatives of foreign mass media and staff of official delegations, international organizations, and financial institutions who enter Tajikistan by invitation or for service purposes. Transit visas are issued to foreign nationals who enter the territory in transit to another destination.
You will be required to submit your U.S. passport with at least six months of remaining validity, two copies of the application with photographs, and a copy of your Green Card or other proof of legal status in the United States. In addition, a verbal note for diplomatic and service visas; application of the inviting agency for business, tourist, study, and working visa; and application and notification of the visa registration office from the Ministry of Internal Affairs might be required for a private visa.
