The city is served by the Jose Joaquin de Olmedo International Airport (GYE). It is the newest terminal in Ecuador and is located five km north of the center of the city. Numerous buses and taxis connect the airport to the city center, making the city a very ideal tourist destination due to its ease of accessibility.
