Travel Guide to Madrid

Airports Serving Madrid, Spain

Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) is Madrid's international airport. Iberia Airlines has its hub and maintenance facility here; therefore 60% of the flights in and out of Madrid are on Iberias. Flights are available from all countries, but check Ryanair and EasyJet for the most economical fares from many European and Middle Eastern locations. The Madrid Metro Rail Line provides service and connections to various destinations in Madrid from the airport. A bus line also has numerous routes from Terminals 1, 2, and 4, into the Avenida de America bus station, while intercity busses provide transportation elsewhere. Avis, Europcar, Hertz and National Atesa have car rental counters at the airport, while taxi stands are situated outside each baggage claim area at each terminal. Passengers are warned against accepting taxis from drivers inside the terminals.
