About Yerevan
Yerevan is a city that can captivate you with its modernity that blends with antiquity with finesse. Continuously inhabited for more than 28 centuries, it justly lays claim to being one of the world's oldest living cities alongside other heavyweights in the region such as Damascus and Istanbul. The capital of the former Soviet Republic of Armenia, it is the nerve center of the nation's culture, politics and history. Situated on the banks of the scenic Hrazdan River, this wonderful city overlooks Mount Ararat, and the skyline is a real treat to behold. The most prominent landmark is the Erubuni Fortress, whose construction is said to have begun in the 8th century B.C.
