Mariscal Sucre International Airport is the only international airport serving Quito. Over 4 million passengers land here every year, which includes international and domestic destinations. Because of its location, it cannot be expanded to serve more airlines or passengers however a new airport, which is located about 90 kilometers from the city, is being built and will begin its operations by the year 2010.
