Kobe
Travel Guide to Kobe
Airports serving Kobe, Japan
Kobe Airport (UKB) is located on an artificial island just off the coast. Utilized only for domestic travel and international charter flights, you will have to fly first to Okinawa, Sapporo-Chitose, Tokyo-Haneda, Kumamoto, or Ishigaki in order to catch a flight to Kobe. A high-speed ferry and rapid transit, as well as bridges for automobile traffic connect the airport to the mainland and to Kansai Airport, which is an international airport that is just 18 miles from Kobe and also an option for travel here.
Kansai Airport (KIX) is also on an artificial island in Osaka Bay, about 24 miles southwest of Osaka Station, and accommodates international flights from almost every country in the world. Do not confuse KIX with Osaka International, which only handles domestic traffic at this time.
