Airports servicing Sao Paulo, Brazil
Sao Paulo/Guarulhos - Governor Andre Franco Montoro International Airport , a.k.a. Cumbica International Airport (GRU) is located in the city of Guarulhos, just a little over 15 miles from the center of Sao Paulo. The busiest airport in Brazil and the second busiest in all of Latin America, Forbes magazine placed this bustling airport in third place in the world in terms of the number of delayed flights. 40 airlines currently have scheduled routes in and out of GRU. Many of these are considered low-cost carriers. You may experience minor inconvenience as major renovations to the terminals are underway, as is a planned fast train service to the city, with expected completion by 2013.
Congonhas/Sao Paulo Airport or Congonhas Airport (CGH) has not allowed international flights since the 1980s when Guarulhos Airport was opened for operations. Used exclusively for domestic flights, Go!, OceanAir, Pantanal, TAM and TRIP all have scheduled service to and from this airport.
