The Townsville International Airport (TSV), one of Australia's largest regional airports, is located five km west of the city center on a coastal flat between Rowes Bay and the Bohle River. It is sometimes known as Garbutt Airport as this is the suburb in which it is located. Historically the airport has been used as a staging point for Australian Defense Force operations both nationally and internationally. Airport facilities include two automatic teller machines and several internet booths.
