Airports Serving Albuquerque, New Mexico
Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ) is located about three miles southeast of the city center. This airport serves a wide area of the state; airports are few and far between. Currently, ground transportation is limited to the most common means of taxis, limos, busses, and rental cars. The New Mexico Rail Runner is a train system currently under consideration for airport access and will provide transportation to areas north and south of Albuquerque. In the mean time, Advantage, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, and Thrifty all have rental counters at the Sunport Car Rental Center. Shuttles run to the center every five minutes from the commercial lane outside the first level of the terminal building.
