Airports Serving Boston, Massachusetts

Flights into Boston most commonly stop at Logan International Airport (BOS), which is one of the busiest airports in the country and is located in East Boston and partly in the town of Winthrop. AirTran Airways, American Airlines, JetBlue and US Airways all provide regularly scheduled service to Logan. Various busses, the subway, shuttle service, light rail, water, taxis and rental car companies provide transportation to and from BOS.

Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT), which is located three miles south of Manchester, New Hampshire, and about 47 miles north of Boston is also an option. Sometimes referred to as the Manchester Airport, this field is certified for Cat III B Instrument Landing and boasts that it has never surrendered to bad weather. Winter flights could result in a detour through this airport.

T.F. Green Airport (PVD), a.k.a. T.F. Green International and Theodore Francis Green State Airport, is actually located in Warwick, Rhode Island. Massport promotes this airport as an alternative to Logan. Its delays and wait times are significantly lower than Logan. Being only 50 miles to center Boston, many businessmen will fly into T.F. Green, rather than deal with Logan's congestion. This may result in higher fares than flying into Logan.
