Airports Serving El Paso, Texas
El Paso International Airport (ELP), located four miles northeast of the city center, serves El Paso and the surrounding regions. Five major commercial airlines including American, US Airways, Continental, Delta and United Airlines provide non-stop regular scheduled flights to Texas, Las Vegas and Chicago and regional carriers such as Frontier, Southwest and New Mexico Airlines offer routes to several destinations in Texas and New Mexico. El Paso has remained a central hub for Continental Airlines for many decades and to regain its monopoly, Continental has been working with its partner airlines to provide low cost and better quality services to other more popular destinations, such as Houston. Taxis, shuttles, and busses are available outside the baggage claim area. Besides metered rates the Border Cab, United Independent, and Sun City Cab companies offer set rates per carload to Cuidad Juarez, to the Juarez Bus Terminal, to the Juarez Airport and to certain zones within the city limits. Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, and Thrifty all have rental counters inside the baggage claim area also.
