Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) is located just about four miles southwest of the center of Rochester and 12 miles south of Lake Ontario, the smallest of the Great Lakes. It serves the metro area commonly known as Greater Rochester, comprised of the city of Rochester and the counties of Livingston, Wayne, Orleans, Monroe, and Ontario. The terminal is in operation 24-hours a day, but the ticket counter hours are manned per the individual schedules of the tenant airlines. RTS busses, taxis, limos and shuttles are all available for ground transportation, as are rental cars. Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, and National all have rental counters on the lower level adjacent to the baggage claim area.
