Montgomery's major airport is known as the Montgomery Regional Airport and is located 9.7 kilometers from the central business district. Since Montgomery is a major military city, the airport is mostly used by the military and for general aviation. There are however, four major carriers that use the airport including American Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Delta Airlines and US Airways.
